Bristol, UK – The Make UK Manufacturing Connect event took place last week at the University of the West of England. The event focused on how digital technology can solve the challenges facing the future of manufacturing, the aim towards a net zero economy, and current labour shortages. The event featured prominent speakers from the manufacturing industry, including David White, COO at Rolls Royce SMR, Paul Eveleigh, MD at Kensa Heat Pumps and Troy Barratt, MD at BAMUK Group.

During the event, speakers shared their expertise and thought leadership on how digital technology can help solve the challenges facing the manufacturing sector. Attendees were able to learn from some of the biggest names and most forward-thinking leaders within the industry.

The event’s aim was to spark discussions and ideas on how to drive the manufacturing sector towards a sustainable and prosperous future. With the ongoing climate crisis and labour shortages, digital technology is becoming increasingly essential for the manufacturing sector to thrive.

Troy Barratt, one of the prominent speakers at the event, left attendees with an inspiring final thought quoted from the early 20th century industrialist Henry Ford: “If you need a machine and don’t buy it, then you will ultimately find that you have paid for it and don’t have it.”

The event was deemed a great success, with attendees leaving with new insights and ideas for the future of manufacturing. Make UK will continue to host events and initiatives that promote sustainability and innovation in the manufacturing industry.
